One of the most popular myths about lunar eclipses in Pakistan is that watching an eclipse can damage your eyesight.

In addition, in India, it is generally believed that no one should eat or drink during a lunar eclipse, most people think that food is spoiled during a lunar eclipse and can cause indigestion.

Many people in India cover their food with basil leaves to prevent spoilage.

Although lunar eclipses are considered bad, people in India generally believe that this is the best time to wash away your sins and it is believed that you should take a bath during the eclipse to get rid of your sins. So that you may be clean.

In addition, in many parts of Pakistan, including India, pregnant women are generally advised to stay indoors during a lunar eclipse as the eclipse can be bad for the unborn child.

Many people also believe that pregnant women should not hold knives and sharp objects during the eclipse as these objects can have a birthmark on the baby.

In addition, the natives of South America believe that the sun and the moon are brothers and if an eclipse occurs, it means that one of them dropped the other.

People in Tibet believe that good and bad deeds multiply during a lunar eclipse.

چاند گرہن اور اس سے جڑے کئی دلچسپ تصوراتی باتیں ہمارے معاشرے میں سننے کو ملتی ہیں، کیا آپ بھی ان پر یقین کرتے ہیں؟

چاند گرہن سے متعلق چند تصوراتی خیال

چاند گرہن سے متعلق پاکستان میں سب سے مشہور تصوراتی باتوں میں سے ایک یہ ہے کہ گرہن کو دیکھنے سے آپ کی بینائی کو نقصان پہنچ سکتا ہے۔

اس کے علاوہ بھارت میں عام طور پر یہ خیال کیا جاتا ہے کہ چاند گرہن کے دوران کسی کو کھانا یا پینا نہیں چاہیے، زیادہ تر لوگوں کا خیال ہے چاند گرہن کے دوران کھانا خراب ہوجاتا ہے اور بدہضمی کا سبب بن سکتا ہے۔

بھارت میں بہت سے لوگ اپنے کھانے کو تلسی کے پتوں سے ڈھانپتے ہیں تاکہ اسے خراب ہونے سے بچایا جا سکے۔

اگرچہ چاند گرہن کو برا مانا جاتا ہے لیکن بھارت میں لوگ عام طور پر یہ بھی مانتے ہیں کہ یہ آپ کے گناہوں کو دھونے کا بہترین وقت ہوتاہےاور خیال کیا جاتا ہے کہ گرہن کے دوران آپ کو گناہوں سے نجات حاصل کرنے کے لیے غسل کرنا چاہیے تاکہ آپ پاک ہوسکیں۔

اس کے علاوہ بھارت سمیت پاکستان میں بھی بہت سے علاقوں میں حاملہ خواتین کو عام طور پر چاند گرہن کے دوران گھر کے اندر رہنے کا مشورہ دیا جاتا ہے کیونکہ گرہن پیدا ہونے والے بچے کیلئے برا ثابت ہوسکتا ہے۔

بہت سے لوگوں کا یہ بھی ماننا ہے کہ گرہن کے دوران حاملہ خواتین کو چاقو اور تیز دھار چیزیں پکڑنی نہیں چاہیے کیونکہ ان چیزوں کا بچے پر پیدائشی نشان پڑ سکتا ہے۔

اس کے علاوہ جنوبی امریکا کے مقامی لوگ مانتے ہیں کہ سورج اور چاند بھائی بھائی ہیں اور اگر گرہن لگ جائے تو اس کا مطلب ہے کہ ان میں سے ایک نے دوسرے کو گرا دیا۔

تبت میں لوگ سمجھتے ہیں کہ چاند گرہن کے دوران اچھے اور برے اعمال کئی گنا بڑھ جاتے ہیں۔

واضح رہے کہ ان تمام دلچسپ باتوں کا سائنسی یا طبی اعتبار سے سچ ہونے کے کوئی شواہد نہیں ہیں یہ محض تصوراتی باتیں ہیں۔

خیال رہے کہ چاند گرہن اس وقت دیکھنے کو ملتا ہے جب زمین اپنے مدار میں چکر کاٹتے ہوئے سورج اور چاند کے درمیان آجاتی ہے اور سورج کی روشنی چاند تک نہیں پہنچ پاتی، اس دوران چاند سیاہ ہونا شروع ہوجاتا ہے جسے گرہن لگنا کہتے ہیں۔​
